Launch

IH169297

To properly christen a ship, one needs to first invite all that are important to the boat. Next, one must give a speech. Something like this:

“For thousands of years, we have gone to sea. We have crafted vessels to carry us and we have called them by name. These ships will nurture and care for us through perilous waters, and so we affectionately call them ‘she.’  To them we toast and celebrate Launderette.”

And so we ask that you raise your glass and shout “TO THE SAILORS OF OLD…TO LAUNDERETTE!” Now take a sip.

And for the best part, we break the bottle over the bow and appease King Neptune. Lay a branch of green leaves on the deck to ensure safe returns. We break glass on the U.S.S. blog ship and officially launch into uncharted cyber-seas. To Launderette, we bid you welcome.

“It is not the ship so much as the skillful sailing that assures the prosperous voyage.”- George William Curtis
