If near Los Angeles this weekend don’t miss this years 2012 Photobooth Convention. The booth enthusiasts of photobooth.net put on an event somewhere in the world only every once in awhile, and this year were lucky enough to have it held so conveniently close to the Launderette offices.

Part artshow, part workshop – there will be lectures, films, collaborative photobooth art projects to participate in, and two real photochemical booths for the use of all who drop by. Friend of Launderette, National Geographic will be DJing both evenings, and of course we’ll be there, taking as many photos of the intern as they’ll let us.

When Leslie’s dad commissioned us to make ties for his wedding, we thought we’d celebrate by offering his design as a (very) limited edition on the site.  The Father-In-Law’s Wedding, available in both neck and bow tie styles, is a rich, textured yellow number with beautiful streaks of cream & brown woven throughout. Made in a medium weight linen, this tie’s unique hand, and silhouette are unlike any twill you own.

Special thanks to our dreamboat friends Monti (The Governor of Good-times) & Pierce (Beard Majesty) who were generous enough to model these ties around their million dollar throats.

Launderette was quoted Sunday in the Los Angeles Times article – All the Groom’s Men by Allison Kornberg Walch. A story on groomsmen’s fashion, Launderette’s own Keith Paugh was interviewed about bow ties and current bow tying trends. When asked in the office about the experience he explained,
“I’m actually a pretty big deal.”

It seems Jake Vintage closed it’s retail doors in Los Feliz. This place was real cool, and Johnathan was real cool, and we are sorry to see it go. John, thanks for the cool tie, and wardrobe search back when. Good luck on all continuing ventures and adventures!

This time here in Los Angeles,  The Cream is making Culver City the spot.* Next Thursday from 6-10pm. Come see the latest fashions, come hear Flashdance’s latest jams, come hang out with us. We’ll be giving out Bow Tying tutorials and peddling hard-to-pass-up neckwears.
