Best of 2009 (part 1)
- Launderette’s Best of 2009 List -
There were no rules, we bound ourselves by no genre. Items didn’t even have to have come out in 2009. Just had to be stuff we encountered and loved this year.

Charley Harper: An Illustrated Life
(book)
A splurge for the Launderette office we haven’t regretted once. Harper’s beloved illustrations presented in Oldham’s exquisite layout and design. You almost need a book stand to properly display the beauty of these poster size pages. An (extremely) affordable bookshelf sized version of the book has also been released.

Stanley Fubar
(tool)
The “Functional Utility Bar” is an all-in-one pry bar, nail remover, demolition chisel hammer. Good luck finding a job you can’t use it for.

The Big Picture
(website)
The Boston Globe’s photo blog. Inspired by old Life Magazines, and National Geographics; it’s clean, uncluttered, informative imagery on a boundless array of subject matter. This is were we experience a lot of our news, and it’s gorgeous.

S’mores Cookies
(recipe)
The perfect s’more is actually in cookie form. It tastes like nostalgia.

Moccasins
(slipper)
Rather than walk in bare feet, walk as if wearing bear feet. They look great with clam diggers or with The Shuffleboard. Go ahead, “Princess Tender Feet”, slip them on.

Moon
(movie)
We’re afraid too many people missed this one. Quiet and eerie, with an A.I. of questionable motives ta-boot. Everything a good space movie should be.
